5086 Marine Grade Checkered Aluminum Plate - CCS / DNV Certification
As an outstanding aluminum plate manufacturer, MC Aluminum produces 5086 marine plates that have successively passed certification from the China Classification Society (CCS) and the Det Norske Veritas (DNV) and obtained the relevant certificates. MC Aluminum’s 5086 marine aluminum plates feature superior performance, sell well both domestically and internationally, and have established long-term partnerships with several major shipbuilders.
What is 5086 Marine Grade Checkered Aluminum Plate?
5086 aluminum alloy belongs to the Al-Mg series with a relatively high magnesium content, providing excellent resistance to seawater corrosion and good weldability.
When the surface is rolled into patterns such as lentil-shaped, diamond-shaped, or five-bar tread, it not only improves anti-slip performance but also enhances local rigidity, making it ideal for wet, slippery marine environments.
Compared to 5154, 5086 offers higher strength and is a non-heat-treatable alloy with excellent seawater resistance, suitable for welded structures such as ships, pressure vessels, and magnetic disks.
MC Aluminum offers temper options including O, H18, H24, H32, H34, H111, and H112.
Performance Features of 5086 Marine Grade Checkered Aluminum Plate
1. Outstanding seawater corrosion resistance: Magnesium content is around 4%, ensuring long-term durability in marine environments.
Excellent weldability: Suitable for TIG, MIG, and other welding processes.
2. Good formability: Easy to process into complex structures required for ship design.
3. High strength and lightweight: Significantly lighter than steel at the same strength level, reducing vessel fuel consumption.
4. Anti-slip design: The checkered surface effectively prevents slipping, enhancing safety during deck operations.
5. Excellent low-temperature performance: Maintains toughness in cold sea environments without becoming brittle.
