Aluminum for tank car
A tanker is a tank-shaped transport vehicle used to transport various liquids, liquefied gases and powdered goods, including gasoline, crude oil, various viscous oils, vegetable oils, liquid ammonia, alcohol, water, various acids. Alkali liquid, cement lead oxide powder, etc. Tankers play an important role in transportation, accounting for about 18% of the total number of trucks.
Most of the tank trucks are carbon steel tank trucks. Due to the heavy weight of carbon steel tank trucks, the high fuel consumption of vehicles, and the easy rust and corrosion of the tank body, which pollutes the environment, many countries have begun to try to use aluminum alloy tank trucks to replace carbon steel tank trucks.
The body part of the aluminum alloy tank car is composed of a hoarding, a wave-proof board, and a tank mouth. Commonly used tank car aluminum plates on the market are generally within 12.5 meters in length and less than 2.2 meters in width. Common thicknesses are generally 5, 6, 7, and 8 mm. A complete tank car body generally requires 4-6 aluminum plates to be welded.
Aluminum alloy tank car mainly adopts 5454 aluminum sheet, 5182 aluminum sheet and 5083 aluminum sheet, and the tank body adopts 5083H111 aluminum sheet. The can cover on both sides need to be bent, and 5083-O aluminum sheet is adopted, which is softer in O state, and 5083-O state is adopted in the partition plate (anti-wave plate).
In addition, some manufacturers use 5454H111 aluminum plate to produce tanks.
Advantages of aluminum for tank trucks:
1.High safety, aluminum alloy tank car has a low center of gravity, is not easy to roll over, and is safer because of its lower loading weight.
2.Lightweight car body, more economical and practical, high effective load.
3.Good corrosion resistance, extended service life and low maintenance cost.
4.Excellent product performance and beautiful appearance.
5.Good elongation, low density of aluminum alloy, high strength
6.Reduce energy consumption, reduce environmental pollution, green environmental protection.
